Unfortunately, sometimes, the damage to an item is extensive, and we recommend against the restoration of certain items for one of the following reasons:
- Loss Related: Item has sustained irreparable damage from the loss such as scorching, shrinking, fading, color bleeding or color change.
- Pre-existing Damage: Item is in frail or weak condition and will not withstand the necessary restoration processes. We avoid causing further damage to these items by classifying them as non-restorable.
- Not Cost Effective to Restore: Sometimes the age, condition or apparent value of an item is estimated to be less than the cost of restoration.
Our trained and experienced staff will evaluate the extent of an item’s damage as well as its cleanability and then recommend what should be restored and what should not, providing an explanation why. There is not a charge for non-restorable items.
